New York, New York

General November 17th, 2006

Perhaps it’s because I’m tired, perhaps it’s the sore back (:-)), but I keep getting this strange feeling….a feeling to dance down the street signing “New York, New York” as Sinatra did in the 1940-50ish musical which at this stage I cant seem to remember, but for lovers of musicals you’ll know the one, Sintra, possibly Dean as sailors in NY during WW2. They were right, New York, New York is a wonderful town. Not cheap, but mindblowingly big….it just seems to go on forever. Loren informes me that theres something like 14 million people and another 6 million nereby, essentially the entire population of Australia. I’ve got a couple more days (leave Monday) and I’m looking forward to exploring some more. The WTC was quite moving, Madisson Square Garden, Broadway (I’m seriously thinking about a ticket to Spamalot…but not cheap). OK, enough for now, when she who must be obeyed gets up in the morning this post is only going to make her jealous. More soon. Oh yeh, nearly forgot, I’ve got no comment on b5 at the moment.

Quote: Actually, I don’t want to tar all christians in a bad way, but why is it the closer to god you are, the bigger hypocrite you become?

Wow. You must know every Christian in the world to make such a blanket statement.

Way to not veil your thoughts on it at all Duncan. Seems to me you’re pointing the finger at Darren. Might as well just tell us all why.

Well, Jeremy lived in a Christian community too, so we’ll just have to wait on developments. Some things are probably best left private.

Because religious teachings contradict themselves, so those who take them literally are bound to do the same.

Well I am definitely sad to see you go. I have only been with b5 for about 2 months and I never got the chance to get to know you. I will miss your unerring bullshit meter. May the force be with you always, Duncan.

Duncan, I am one of the individuals with b5 that sent you a private e-mail wishing you the best and stating that I was very sad to see you no longer be a part of b5media. I too enjoyed your straight forward and different viewpoint from the mainstream. To everyone else actively involved in comments on this blog and others, until we hear all the details and facts we should all stop making assumptions of what those details and facts really are.

If you like Python, Spamalot is absolutely worth it.

If you don’t go to a play on Broadway I will kill you.

Beside the more experiences you have in New York the less I have to hear the words Blog, Long Tail Theory, monetarisation etc etc over dinner.

Errr, has there been some editing going on here, ’cause I can’t see anything of what Shawn is apparently quoting?

Andy, yes, what I quoted was in his original post, but he’s obviously edited it out. Either he thought better of it, or the heat was too much.

Either way, color me *very* unimpressed.
