Hah. I pointed out the "designed" thing on my blog because our guy Mike just gave the product a long overdue facelift (see logo above sent by AOL tipster) and it's a trip to hear Jason get credited with design/code/architecture.

Jason had a ton of product input and he and I were partners in both Weblogs and Blogsmith. He deserves a bunch of credit for the platform -- that was just worded funny.

Now if Jason still gets credit when I launch my Craigslist-killer in April without any involvement from Jason at all...well then I'll just shake my head in disgust and lose all my faith in the blogosphere.

Note: While I certainly had a lot of input into Blogsmith over the years, the person who should be created with designing it is my partner Brian Alvey. In fact, the primary reason Brian and I partnered with each other on Weblogs, Inc. was because we knew that in order to build a scale blogging network we would need to have our own custom blogging platform and Brian has been developing CMSs for almost a decade!

I would appreciate it if you could correct above.

Duncan...just a word from the "web usability institute" :-)...put some paragraph breaks in that post man. It's awfully difficult to read.

You can just ping Brian and sign some paperwork.

Duncan, I just had a brief email conversation with Blogsmith's chief architect, Brian Alvey, and he says this is all news to him. Does AOL's left-hand not know what its right-hand is doing?

BTW, having blogged at WIN for several months using this platform, I can tell you its sweet. Not my favorite perhaps, but sweet nonetheless.
